Both Apple and Samsung are the best leading companies in the manufacture of quality and durable electronics in the world. They manufacture more than half the amount of electronic gadget manufactures in the world. Traditional mobile phones had a few features which limited the user to perform a variety of tasks. They were mainly designed to make and receive calls. With the improvement of technology and as people became more digital, there was a need to use more advanced phones in terms of features. People needed to use phones which had almost the same features as the computer. During this time, the mobile industry was dominated by the Nokia Company; Apple Company challenged it after it introduced its first smartphone which had more unique features. This attracted more market and branded the Apple Company. Although Apple has been the best in the market, it has received a stiff competition from Samsung after the company released Samsung galaxy, which had more unique features than the Apple smartphone, therefore, becoming the best smartphone producing company in the world. This has brought stiff competition between these two technology giants. Apple and Samsung have similarities and differences in the global business and potential risks and opportunities as highlighted herein.
One of the similarities between the two companies in the international business is that they both use similar material in the manufacture of their products. Samsung uses coltan in manufacturing most of its products (Chang, Kim & Joo, 2013). Therefore, having manufactured their products using the same material, this places the two companies at almost equal standards in their products.
