I am an ordained Minister, Professional Board-Certified Clinical Chaplain, and I use the love of the Jesus Christ model. In this context, I always instill hope in people to augment their spiritual resiliency and quality of life. I was in the South Bronx during the time of drugs and prostitution and being part of organized crime. In my practice environment, I constantly watch many people get hurt and even killed, and this breaks my heart. In order to erase these unpleasant memories, I enjoy dancing and music. I left the Bronx to study Pastoral Care and Counseling in Texas. I earned my Edd in Pastoral Counseling and now striving to become a Diplomate in Pastoral Supervision. At Sante Center for Healing, I served as a group leader and a Clinical Pastoral Education Educator (CPEE) using theological reflection. The ministry’s theological and professional education process is called clinical pastoral education (CPE). Students of theology, clergy, and laypeople directly minister to those in need, weak, and frequently suffering. While under supervision, this is being done.
I appreciate that the therapeutic method of instruction used by CPE allows for both action and facilitated reflection. My encounters with patients and residents, formally through one-on-one conversations, organizing groups, and informally hanging out, have placed me in people’s most private areas, where exchanges can take place on profoundly expressive and spiritual levels. Being existent for and with the team has also given me equal opportunities to ask them to consider their job, assess what provides them with hope, and validate and support them in their endeavors. I have had many chances to reflect on these events, which has helped me develop competently and personally as a pastor to patients and employees (Salehian, 2018). I admire the therapeutic approach to learning used by CPE enables both action and facilitated reflection. My encounters with patients and residents, formally through one-on-one conversations, organizing groups, and casually hanging out, have placed me in people’s most private areas, where exchanges can take place profoundly, emotionally, and spiritually. Being present for and with the staff has also given me similar opportunities to ask them to consider their job, what provides them with hope, and confirm and support them in their endeavors. I have had many chances to reflect on these events, which have helped me develop personally and professionally as a chaplain to patients and employees.
When I began interacting with people, my work as a CPEE made me fully aware of my sincere interest, compassion, and passion for assisting individuals in addiction recovery programs. Eventually, I had numerous personal interactions with people struggling to go outside the controlled environment. I observed them struggling with a mounting sense of guilt and humiliation and growing hunger from when the sun rose to when it set.
