In this time of the pandemic, the toll on one’s mind is high. For the first time, people alive in the world have experienced a pandemic they have never seen before. According to Pfefferbaum et al. (2020), mental health conditions are rampant not only in regular citizens but also amongst the healthcare workers themselves as they struggle in the battle against COVID 19. Conditions such as anxiety, depression, and insomnia are common because the person experiences the pandemic for the first time. The prolonged isolation and uncertainty on when this will end also take a toll. That is why it is encouraged that education and training on psychosocial issues must also be provided alongside the medical treatment of COVID 19.
