Reaction Paper Instructions:

This is a philosophy paper. First we have to read some of the pages from the book 'Introduction to Philosophy: Classical and Contemporary Reading' , then there are 10 questions(topics) that are provided asking about our own opinion about the reading. It is writer's choice to select the topic.
This is a tip of how writer should write the paper. This should be in argumentative form of writing. The task of this paper is to explain to any person who have not learn the book and philosophy. The professor says that if we provide this paper to an stranger who doesn't study philosophy and they still can understand what is this paper talking about, then it is a successful one.

Introduction
Socrates is undoubtedly one of the greatest minds that have existed on the planet. His contributions to mankind have extended, not only in the field of Philosophy but also in other realms of study. However, aside from his participation in building the academe, what he is most known for is his ability to pique human interest and imagination in reflecting about the essence of living. In one of his books, entitled Apology, he said that “an unexamined life is not worth living.” Although being a simple statement, this has been repeated a thousand times until today and even served as a guiding principle for other humans in living their life. Even I believe in Socrates’ assertion of the need for frequent reflection, I believe that it is unique for humans to find answers for their own existence as well as the existence of others. This element of awareness is what differentiates people from animals, and vice versa. However, despite being our natural disposition, the complexities of today’s society have made this element of self-awareness more difficult to achieve. In our efforts to get the things that we want in life, or to survive in the harsh conditions of the world, we have set aside our need to reflect and see everything for what they really are. Thus, in this article, I would be discussing what Socrates’ meant in his assertion and why has it become more difficult these days, in greater detail.
A Life Worth Living
Socrates’ assertion of the need for a closer examination of one’s life originated from his trial. It was during the time when he was being forced to make a choice between exile and death, where he chose death rather than the other one. He believes that the pursuit of wisdom is the most important thing above anything else in life. In a reflection of our own experiences, it was evident that there is a need for humans to find answers to their existence and the existence of everything around them.
