I have always wondered why a high tech company like Google would engage its employees in old spiritual practices like meditation; reading this chapter helped me realize why. I’m pretty sure that working as a web developer in Google is pretty stressful – one has to think of new technologies never before invented, and then translate it into a computer program that will work in every computer that tries to access it. I can imagine the pressure of coming up with solutions to problems that no one else can address. Working in a highly tensed environment like Google without meditation is like constantly being on fire, hence, their need to introduce a way of "cooling the fire".
