Different Levels of Learning and their Costs

Peer 1: I really like how the article broke up the learning into 3 levels across each task as it provided additional insight into where the time is exactly spent. Simulations and games were the highest cost by far and now it makes me wonder if they are less common because of the cost rather than the complexity because prior to this article I thought it was just difficult to make good and effective learning games and simulations in regards to creativity.
Peer 2: It was interesting to see the comparison of cost associated with different levels of learning. I would be interested in also understanding the return on investment (ROI) of these cost. For example, the instructor-led learning seems to cost the least, but the learning outcome may not be as ideal as the other three (just a hypothesis). Therefore, by dividing the cost by some standardized learning outcome metric, we will be able to see how each dollar can translate to different levels of learning outcome, which is probably what the institution decision makers care about more. The cost data definitely provided great understanding about the different components that need to be invested in making different levels of learnings happen, but the ROI could contribute more strategically to educators to choose the most appropriate method for their institutions and students.
