I need a personal statement on why I need more time to complete a board. I had a few set backs this year. My husband died, I got strep throat, I got quarantined and was pretty sick, I’m having a hard time concentrating now because my husband died, I’m almost there and will be able to board but its just taking me longer than the average person with everything that has happened to me this year.

Personal Statement
Trials come in different scopes and forms. Personally, I have experienced a series of unfortunate events which, combined, might have long-run impact on my professional future. For most immediate effect, I might not most likely be able to complete a board as and when required. Admittedly, asking for more is often an unpreferable, if not dismissable, approach to pursuing a “solid” and “consistent” professional career. Then again, one force majeure could alter a whole life in numerous unexpected ways. In my case, I have had – and I continue to have – not one yet several forces majeures making completion of my board increasingly out of reach. This account is, accordingly, less about a poignant statement on my current personal state of affairs and more about critical life circumstances of far-reaching professional consequences I do not, as a professional, wish to have any impact whatsoever on anyone I might deal with during my board journey.
Let me start backwards.
Most recently, I have been quarantined because of COVID-19. The combination of sickness and social stigma has only put me under an incredible state of stress. Having an eye on a board and experiencing pain I have never had before, I was – is – still under a state of double uncertainty: an uncertainty arising from growing doubts about my own health and an uncertainty about my professional future.
