According to de Castro et al. (2019), vitamin B12, albumin, and vitamin D could help to assess the nutritional status of a patient with Crohn's disease. The patient might experience diarrhea, fever, abdominal, and anemia. Jensen et al. (2017) posit that capsule endoscopy, computer tomography enterography are sometimes useful when diagnosing Crohn's disease. Methods such as ultrasonography, scintigraphy could also apply when assessing the complications of this disease. To manage Crohn's disease, I would put the patient on mesalamine products though antibiotics are the most preferred during treatment (Jensen et al., 2017). Since the patient's condition is quite severe, he might require an emergent hospitalization with the attention of a surgeon.
Though the patient might require ceratin therapies, there is a need for ethical sound clinical trials. The patient would be given access to such treatments to keep them from the risks resulting from immunogenicity. This method involves proper communication on the surgical procedures. The patient will have to consent first. I will check for some common symptoms of Crohn's disease, such as diarrhea, fever, or abdominal pain. I will conduct a history evaluation to determine the severity of the patient's bowel movements.
