Definition of Art
For our discussion, I'd like you to address two things:
1. How do you define art? Explain this in your own words.
2. Which of the above artists were most interesting to you and why? How does this artist relate to your definition of art?
Discussion posts need to be in your own words. It is okay to cite someone in your post, but be sure to credit them appropriately. For the most part, there is no need to cite someone else in your discussion. The whole point is to take some time, gather your thoughts and speak for yourself. Then, take the time to engage with the thoughts and comments of your peers. It's pretty great how interactive a discussion board can be!
Once you have submitted your response, you will be able to see the responses of others. I'd like you to then comment on two other responses - please don't skimp on this part.
Please be sure to give yourself enough time to submit your response as well as your two comments on other responses before the submission window closes at 10 pm on Tuesday.

Art refers to an individual’s expression of life experiences using creativity and imagination through drawing, painting, and sculpture. In particular, I perceive artwork in a similar way to music, which an artist comes up with to express his or her feelings, experiences, or emotions to the public. Songs have unique meanings in the same manner as art. However, without understanding the actual meaning of a specific artwork, it becomes difficult to interpret it. Art can have hidden or direct meaning. For this reason, it is always critical to investigate the actual meaning based on the artist’s explanation. For instance, pieces of artwork in the 17th century are different from those in the 21st century due to various changes that have occurred. Artists express their perceptions and understanding of the distinctive things that they encounter in their lives. Consequently, artworks are used as a way of communication by artists where individuals can only understand their meaning by interacting with their creator.
