*Describe the artwork in terms of subject, medium, composition, and use of color.
*Classify the work of art, highlighting the style, movement, and any innovation the artist displayed.
*Analyze the relationship between the work of art and the influences on the artist that shape the interpretation of the art.
*Explain your personal view of the work and make a recommendation for or against the public viewing the work.
*Include three (3) references to support your claims. (The text may be used as one (1) reference.)

‘The Night Café’ is a painting by Vincent Van Gogh depicting the interior of a café room. According to VincentVanGogh.org, the painting was done on an industrially primed canvas using oil-based paints. The painting room has five customers sitting randomly at both sides, and another person with a white coat stands beside a pool table that is situated in the middle of the room. Most of the tables are empty, and a half-open curtain can be seen at the background of the painting after a counter with liquor bottles. From the foreground, the colors of the floor is a brighter yellow as a result of reflecting the lights, which then transitions to a darker yellow in the lower part of the walls. Blood-red paint is used for the walls with touches of bulging yellow strands to show the effect of the ceiling lamps. The tabletops have a darker shade of lemon-green with black lines at the edges; the counter has a lighter green touch while a more prominent green is portrayed in the ceiling to march the piercing red on the upper walls. The painting employs a sharp contrast in its use of color for the different elements.

The painting is aimed at capturing the situation at the café at nightfall shown through the letters he wrote about the art.
