The Curse
Lakebell was a small village that just one road went through it. The road joined the major trading route which passed through the Castle town of Savanna. For this reason, it was not surprising to see many merchants travelling through Lakebell all day long. Large groups were often seen in the morning and smaller groups in the evening. The Merchants only rested in Lakebell for one to two hours before proceeding with their journey. Gabe is one of the Merchants who has been travelling around the country for five years, and in the process, he has identified his favorite spot where he orders his meals and indulges himself with a couple of cups of mead. The welcomes he often receives remind him of his home, a village just like Lakebell. Despite being on the road for long, he is not used to big cities and towns with noise and excitement.
It was getting late, and Gabe decided to spend the night in the village. However, the taverner did not welcome him. "Sorry young man, but we won't be keeping people here in the tavern tonight." The tarvener said with a solemn tone. The tarvener even suggested to Gabe that the night would be a full moon, and it was upon him to continue his journey to the Caste town. Their conversation was interrupted by an ear-piercing scream that left them shaking. They were unsure what made the sound, but they again heard the scream but from a closer range. The scream was closer to the village, and even though they thought it was a bird the first time, they were sure it was something monstrous. "The monster is coming!" the taverner whispered with a shaking voice. "The monster is coming, and you must leave!"
Perhaps it is the horror in the taverner's eyes, or Gabe might have believed for a second time that monsters existed in this world; he ran for his horse and rode towards the castle at a sonic speed. Suddenly, an inhuman scream came from the village tavern's direction. Without better judgment, Gabe topped the horse abruptly and turned.
