After over six years of struggle living in a city without clean drinking water, Flint residents are enjoying the fruits of their patience today. Flint water crisis has been resolved despite people in this region suffering for an extended period waiting for the reconnection of clean drinking water in their homes. The federal and state government spent about $400 million to ensure that Flint has safe drinking water (Robertson). Additionally, the city promised to compensate Flint residents who have suffered medically, psychologically, and economically with approximately $650 million (Robertson). However, despite the presence of clean drinking water in Flint, some residents say that they do not trust it.
According to the United States of America (USA) Census Bureau, Flint, Michigan, had a population of 95,538 people in 2019. The median age of Flint residents is 34.9 years, and the average household income is $27,717. The city’s population decreased from 97,810 to 97,161 between 2017 and 2018.
