Business experts have shown that networking is one of the most critical aspects for the growth of a business and its employees. In its most comprehensive definition, the networking concept refers to establishing and nurturing mutually beneficial relationships among individuals and businesses for long-term purposes. Active professional networking is critical for the growth of one's career and must thus be encouraged. Even more importantly, it is critical to take action as one goes about networking with professional peers and businesses. As an organization, we must be ready to take every step that encourages networking efforts and ensure employees and the business are positioned excellently in the business ecosystem. Worth reiterating is that networking requires an aspect of emotional intelligence. This argument's core is that it takes emotions to connect with people either casually or professionally (Casciaro, Gino, and Kouchaki 2016, p.107). As such, one must be emotionally aware of others and discern the mod in different situations to succeed in their networking endeavors.
The creation of opportunities is one of the reasons employees should all embrace networking. Networking events are often full of opportunities that employees can take advantage of to access talent. As we all know, talent is an essential success factor in an individual's organization and career path. This fact is especially true for individuals working in the recruitment and hiring department. Those with networks have plenty of opportunities to meet other individuals who can fill different organization positions (Dillon. and Gallo 2017, p.43). Currently, it is not easy to find proficient and talented individuals without connections and networking efforts. With a strong professional network, it is possible to meet individuals who have the perfect qualities that the organization requires, and therefore we should all embrace the idea.
Networking is also effective when it comes to boosting one’s confidence and interpersonal skills. Like leadership, confidence and interpersonal skills take an employee a long way in boosting their performance in myriad perspectives. For starters, these skills allow one to communicate their views and ideas clearly. Clients usually look for individuals who are articulate and can communicate their intentions in an excellent manner (Dillon. and Gallo 2017, p.43). ...
