Sexual violence refers to activities that are obtained without permission and will of offering from a person basing on sex. Sexual harassment and exploitation are among types of sexual oppression. Different cultural groups have different views towards sexuality which makes it possible to have groups of people who practice sexual oppression from one generation to the other (hashford). LGBT, women and children are the most affected members of the society. Both local community and the church especially Evangelical churches are among groups practicing violence in the name of worship. Besides soul nourishing and providing counseling to the oppressed, the church fails to report and to respond to cases of sexual harassment which makes it a culture of the church to only help the violated members of the society without reporting their cases to the authority. This paper will discuss sexual oppression in the church and society today.
