Good Leadership Structures in Virtual Teams

Other (Not Listed) Instructions:

You have been assessing the team all the way through the course, but in this Case, you are going to condense your analysis into a format that will become the basis for an action plan for continuous improvement. (You are looking at this from the perspective of this being a hypothetical team.)
Review your SLPs, and Cases from Modules 1-3, and create a table (see below). Below the table are five areas of discussion and each area has 2-3 questions to address. Put one question into each box in the column on the left with the heading “Question."
For each question, enter yes or no and list appropriate actions for improvement in the column on the right.
In your conclusion paragraph summarize what you have found with your assessment of the team. Provide the “why” you made the assertion rather than a mere description of a process or theory.
The Case Assignment should address the following:
Team Design
Is the chosen leadership structure optimal for guiding and ensuring team success?
Are there adequate opportunities for the development of ideas and creativity? If not, how can this be achieved?
Team Climate
Is trust established individually between members and through team task assignments? If not, how can this be accomplished?
Is there an open dialogue regarding team and individual responsibilities and accountability? If not, how can this be accomplished?
Team Resources
Did the team develop a communication plan? If so, what are the details and purpose of the plan? If not, why would a communication plan be relevant?
Does the team make use of relevant collaboration tools? Which tools are used and what is the agreed-upon frequency of use?
Team Norms and Procedures
What agreed-upon norms guide team communication?
What procedures are in place to assist in the management and accomplishment of team projects and tasks?
Team Improvement
What procedures are in place for ensuring success by capturing knowledge for later assessment and learning?
Does the team actively assess and monitor areas of improvement? If so, how?
Which areas need improvement, and what is needed to make these improvements?
Your paper should be a minimum of five pages (excluding title and references pages) and include a minimum of three high-quality peer-reviewed scholarly sources found in the Trident Online Library. The assignment should include a title page, an introduction, a body of work (table), a conclusion, and a reference list page.

Introduction
Prior cases have revealed the impact of virtual teams as a bridging agent of the gap between professional knowledge and scientific understanding. In the present era, virtual teams are becoming more common. Organizations are gradually using virtual environments to conduct normal processes from remote locations and generate long-term effects. As a result, in these cases, analyses were formatted in a variety of ways throughout the team evaluation process. In this scenario, we will combine all of those examples to form the framework of a continuous improvement action plan. We will answer questions on four bases during the conversation and then conclude. They include team improvement, norms and procedures, team resources, team climate, and team design bases.

Team Design
Is the chosen leadership structure optimal for guiding and ensuring team success?

Yes

Good leadership structure and optimal guidance are required in Exploring the importance of agile human resource development and promoting professional success (Collin et al., 2018).
In this case, the virtual teams choose from three different work designs: 'wheel, "modular,' and 'iterative.' Wheel approach covers the classic communication process in work design. Hence, to provide objectives and track progress, the team leader communicates with the virtual team members in a 360-degree manner. Secondly, the modular approach allows team members to be assigned roles based on their knowledge and experience. Finally, iterative work design is a feedback technique. Virtual team members receive ongoing input from each other until the project's results are finalized.

Are there adequate opportunities for the development of ideas and creativity? If not, how can this be achieved?

Yes

In any organization, creativity and innovation are critical to its success (Anderson et al., 2014).
Therefore, virtual teams are usually self-contained in their ability to think and contribute to project accomplishment. For example, in this case, they employ knowledge to jointly adjust the behavioral responses of members and management.

Team Climate
Is trust established individually between members and through team task assignments? If not, how can this be accomplished?

Yes

The virtual team consists of six people who use an iterative approach to task design and a leaderless structure to produce an effective training plan. All members have the opportunity to get to know one another and create trust, which will allow them to work together throughout the process. Open-mindedness and honesty are two important techniques for increasing embraced by the team members to build their ' trust.

Is there an open dialogue regarding team and individual responsibilities and accountability? If not, how can this be accomplished?

Yes

The leadership options are dispersed based on the virtual teams' preferred work designs. As a TMT representative, a leader would give the supervisor the necessary directives. The supervisor would communicate with the team an...
