What is Endometriosis?

This misplaced tissue continues to act as it would in the uterus, thickening, breaking down, and hemorrhaging with every menstrual cycle. But unlike the endometrial tissue inside the uterus, the blood and tissue from endometrial growths outside the uterus have no way of leaving the body. This can trigger pain, inflammation, and scar tissue formation.
What are the Symptoms?
Pelvic Pain
Pelvic pain can be severe and unbearable, often occurring during menstruation or sexual activity. Treatment for endometriosis-related pelvic pain depends on the severity of the pain and the individual's goals for treatment.
Medical treatments for endometriosis may include pain medication, hormone therapy, or surgery to remove the endometrial tissue. Complementary therapies, such as physical therapy, acupuncture, or massage, may also help manage pelvic pain associated with endometriosis.
Heavy and Painful Periods

Infertility
Endometriosis can impact a woman's fertility in several ways.
