Objective: Understand the importance of healthcare informatics and technology in patient care.
Description: Today was eye-opening for me, as I saw the significant impact that healthcare informatics and technology have on patient care. I watched as nurses and doctors deftly navigated electronic health records, accessing critical information in just a few clicks. Each time a new note was added or a vital sign was recorded, the EHR was updated in real-time, allowing everyone involved in the patient's care to stay on the same page. This technology facilitated communication and coordination among the healthcare team, enabling them to make informed treatment decisions and easily monitor the patient’s progress.
Evaluation: Throughout my experience observing healthcare informatics and technology, I developed a strong understanding of its importance in patient care. I saw firsthand how various technological tools improved communication between providers, allowing them to collaborate more effectively and efficiently. As well, I witnessed how these systems streamlined patient care, ultimately leading to better outcomes. Although I didn't encounter significant obstacles in achieving my objective, I would like to continue exploring this field further.
