Hospital-acquired infections constitute a major health issue in the United States (U.S.) health care system. The American Journal of Infection Control (AJIC) is a peer-reviewed professional journal where I would present my project results. AJIC would be the appropriate journal to publish the article since my topic entails employing hand hygiene practices to minimize hospital-acquired infections and thus augment health outcomes within the hospital and the community. In addition, disseminating evidence-based practice (EBP) and research can assist in the prevention of the transmission of diseases by helping nurses to acquire and spread expertise on valid interventions to enhance effective patient outcomes by transforming the research findings into real clinical practice when caring for patients.
