Programs aimed at health promotion are critical in the improvement of health, reduction of disease risks, management of chronic diseases, as well as the improvement of the well-being of individuals and communities. However, for a health promotion program to be successful, it must be pegged on a clear understanding of the targeted health behaviors as well as the involved environment. Its development and management must also be carried out using strategic planning models, and meaningful evaluation should be consistently carried out.
