How the Group accepted the Situation
The conflict resolution concept was widely accepted after the one-week intense education program by the intern to the healthcare professionals. In three months, there was a whooping deduction of conflicts among nurses by seventy percent. Acceptance can be measured in two different positive outcomes. These include increased motivation among nurses in all departments and improved collaboration and care coordination among nurses and other healthcare professionals. As a result, medical errors were reduced significantly, and the overall patient experience and quality of care improved. Motivation allowed the nurses to alter their behavior, develop key competencies, become more creative, set specific goals, make candid plans, and boost their engagement (Gkorezis et al., 2021). As a result, everything in the hospital wards and the outpatient department started gaining a smooth flow.
Knowing how to resolve common conflicts was key to improved job satisfaction, which allowed nurses and other healthcare professionals to feel that they were effective in their work. Maintaining a positive relationship with each other increased their motivation significantly. It was noted that they started becoming each other's support systems. They also started having a positive mindset, facilitating their energy and keeping them going. Honestly, a whole revolution took place and reversed the recurrent conflicts, lack of motivation, and job dissatisfaction.
Collaboration and care coordination were also significantly increased, seen through the establishment of collaborative principles among nurses and all other healthcare professionals involved in patient care. These principles included the establishment of common goals by the team. These goals included reducing and shortening response time, improving quality patient care, and reducing waste (Runtu et al., 2019). Setting the goals was crucial since it helped every team member have a focus and an objective that they would work towards. The focus assisted them in creating unity and allowed room for feedback. Initially, the nurses had different outcomes, only hindering progress and fueling the conflicts.
Another principle that demonstrated acceptance of the Situation by the team was a refresh of the assigned roles within the team. Comprehending specific individual roles within the team enhanced collaboration and care coordination. Initially, due to the numerous conflicts, roles were not defined, which saw some team members, including nurses, duplicate efforts in specific areas, leaving gaps and holes in others. It was essential for each team member to bring out their areas of expertise and offer the best care after the one-week campaign on conflict resolution strategies.
