- Identify the primary colors that are used in everyday life.
- Make predictions and observations about blooms, depending on what you see.
- Participate in experiments that include blending primary colors to produce new hues.
- Colors should be sorted into categories.
- Paint in the colors red, yellow, and blue. Each class will get one bottle of each kind.
- Sandwich bags (one for each student)
- Make a Splash! by Herve Tullet
- A little bucket with a variety of various colored buttons
- Egg cartons that have been emptied, one for each of the students
- Handout with Venn diagram and crayon boxes (one per student)
- Have a copy of the book "Mix It Up!" Keep a copy of Hervé Tullet nearby to read.
- Place empty bags and paint on the students' desks, where they will be sitting for the class duration.
- Create a Venn diagram template for each student and distribute it to them.
- It will help to put all of the students' crayons, buttons, and egg cartons in their bags. Then, the students will be able to get them and use them.
