Details of The Population Group
The group program will focus on youths at risk. The group consists of youths from different races, social identities, and gender. As a result, they go through various challenges in the community. Such challenges ought to be identified and solved to ensure that the youth at risk live a normal life. There is a lot of details to discuss this group, and such makes it an ideal choice for the group program. The youth at risk to be discussed are the low-income individuals living in an urban setting. Therefore, their social-economic status has a significant influence on their daily challenges that will be addressed in the paper.
Community
The youth at risk live at Jane and Finch community in Canada. It is an urban setting that provides plenty of challenges for the youth at risk since there are low-income earners. The urban setting presents the youths will limit job opportunities and bills to pay. Hence, such a group could benefit a lot from the help of a mentor.
Rationale
One of the challenges for the youth at risk is being victims of drug abuse. Considering that the youth are low-income earners, the chances are high that they might opt to take drugs as a way of countering their frustrations.
