Chef's Table: Musa Dağdeviren Film Review
Question One
The film is awe-inspiring since it focuses on the traditional perspective, thus creating an old-age atmosphere. Musa Dağdeviren quest to preserve traditional Turkish cuisine is the most real thing I have noted in this episode. The fact that the Chef undergoes a series of fortunes and misfortunes during his past makes him feel that Turkish people are losing their culture, especially food. In this episode, the all episode is impressive considering that Musa Dağdeviren mostly spoke Turkish, a language I usually adore.
Question Two
The author is referencing the issue of loss of culture among the Turkish people. People have lost their culture, especially in the aspect of food. The effect of westernization in the region is one of the most impactful factors towards the Turkish culture's decline. Therefore, the way he was attacking the educated people was how they were too obsessed with their efforts to achieve education while their culture is fading. Musa Dağdeviren was holding kebab and gave a brief history about its existence and its significance ("主厨的餐桌第5季-02 - IFVOD"). One important aspect that he says about Kebabs is that "foods such as kebab were made objects of ridicule in movies and everywhere else. It was considered food consumed by people without cult...
