Create Stage Instructions:  1.Can a single absorption band distinguish between water vapor and Carbon Dioxide in the gas phase?  1.Yes, a single absorption band can distinguish between water vapor and Carbon dioxide in the gas phase since there is a different pattern in their electromagnetic absorption, especially in the atmosphere. Specifically, they exhibit different radiance on different wavelengths when analyzed with the use of the EM spectrum. 2.Using your own words, distinguish between “net-zero” and “Carbon neutral.” (Be certain to provide your source(s) - e.g.,). What makes net-zero objectives ‘more aggressive than others? 1. The main difference between “net-zero” and “carbon neutral” rests on their scope. On the one hand, the net-zero concept sure refers to all Greenhouse gases. Specifically, it is defined as a phenomenon when the rate of GHG removal and emission in the Earth’s atmosphere are equivalent. On the other hand, “carbon neutral” is a term that is more specifically used for Carbon Dioxide. It is similar to net-zero in that this phenomenon exists when the rate of carbon emissions and removal are equal (Ecometrica.com, 2021). Additionally, the two concepts may also be differentiated based on how international agreements and treaties define the metrics and the processes to achieve these goals. Finally, the reason why net-zero is more aggressive in that it aims to create a specific goal for the short, medium, and long-term to achieve this goal. Additionally, the enormous scope of GHGs makes is more aggressive considering that there is a larger ground to cover.   3.Regarding the AGU’s selection of : 1.Using the first graph from point 5 on “Carbon Extraction”: 1.Estimate the [CO2] in 2100.
  1. Based on the graph, the estimated CO2 levels in 2100 are about 490 ppm to 500 ppm.
2.How does this estimate (previous question) compare with any other 2100 projections you have made?
  1. This estimate is somehow close yet lower than my previous estimate. My estimate is that I believe that the increased consumerism these days will exponentially increase the CO2 levels in the atmosphere in the decades and centuries to come.
4.How does the use of the entire absorption spectrum for water vapor and Carbon Dioxide affect your ability to make a clear distinction between these gasses?...
