And since the topic of the essay is writing strategies, that has to be, you can choose three to be the main point. Do you see how we are just shifting from content to writing? The content is how do you feel about this story?
The main points shift to writing strategies from the content of what the article is talking about. Okay? If you have any questions, read that document. It is really good. It is a killer. And there are a lot of strategies to know. Get to know them so you can recognize them in other essays we are going to read. And other articles. And as you read, now you have something to take notes on. Oh, this person is using dialogue! This person is making a comparison when he is doing this.

I want you to summarize the article. So write a summary of it. The whole article. You already know the authors. You know the source. You know the title of the article. You know the thesis statement.
Due Friday before class, I want you to write as much as you can, but choose from the list of rhetorical strategies. Choose from that document that I sent to you. That has all these questions you believe would apply. If you answered them in connection with the rhetorical strategy you are choosing, it would effectively help you to analyze the article, and start from the beginning. Start reading this from the beginning.
