Purpose: To reflect on your professional growth over the internship, as well as synthesize and articulate your internship tasks/accomplishments in an interview using the STAR (Situation – Task – Action – Results) method
Instructions: Consider the learning objectives you chose in assignment #1 and select TWO significant internship experiences where you used or developed those skills/knowledge. For example, these experiences might be the management of a project/team or an unexpected challenge that occurred. Bear in mind that the experience could be a setback or a failure, as these can be rich opportunities for learning and professional development.
For each significant internship experience, tell the story using the STAR format, as if you were at a behavioral interview with a prospective employer.
Situation: Describe the context within which you performed a job or specific project that you were assigned to work on.
Task: Describe your responsibility in that situation. What were you supposed to do? What were the goals or objectives?
Actions: Describe how you completed the task or how you fulfilled the goal.
Results: Explain the outcomes or results generated by the action taken. What happened? What did you learn? What made it memorable for you?
My situation: I interned in Amazon as a software development engineer in Summer 2017 for 3 months. Most of skills I learned there is written in my resume. Teamwork is an important ability Ive learned there. I have a project manager and a mentor in our team and they have personal meetings every two weeks to see if I was doing well and if I have some questions want to talk about in the last two weeks. They gave me a task to finish and made a demo at the end of the internship to show everyone in the team what I did in 3 months.

In this paper, I will be presenting significant internship experiences from the 3-month internship that I had in 2017, which I believe had greatly contributed to my improvement and continuous learning as a professional software development engineer.
My internship experience as a software development engineer was in Amazon. Among the many activities and responsibilities that I had during my stay there, my assignment on web development was one of the memorable activities I had done during my 3-month stay.
I was tasked to work on the carousel picture display. I was required to design a webpage style that would best showcase the content and deliver the desired feel of the page.
I was able to fulfill this goal with the help of my previously acquired information from books and research. Still, most of the completion of the project was because of the guidance and inspiration given by professional software engineers who were working at Amazon. I found the project quite challenging, which may be attributed to the difficulty of the task itself and to the adjustments in a new environment and workplace that I was experiencing at the time.
