Assignment: This chapter obviously builds on the prior one about gendered organizational communication.  I would like for you to examine the disparities between how men and women are treated/viewed by society at large and how they communicate with one another or attempt to express their opinions.  

Another question to consider is this: due to their "marginalized" status, do women (in this instance, female reporters) feel the need to be "on the attack" rather than simply playing their prescribed passive role as interviewers or purveyors or information/opinion.

Since time beginning, there has always been gender and racial disparities in the workforce. Issues of women being employed less or gettng paid less have been pervasive in society so much so that it has sparked a lot of discourses and protests worldwide. The notion that women are capable of doing less has been proven untrue by evidence of their roles in the family, community, and society.
Gender disparities in the news is something that can easily be observed. Men have been leading news programs predominantly in the past and it seems that many news networks have been resolving gender disparities in their crew, like Fox an MSNBC.
