Food Security Problem in Kenya

Chapter 4, "Food," in your textbook illustrates that there is enough food produced and available to feed the entire world every day. However, for various reasons, millions still go hungry, making food security—having consistent access to adequate nutritional food—a persistent global social problem in both developing and developed countries.

Enterprise funds are accounted for differently than governmental funds.
Compare the accounting for enterprise funds with that of governmental funds, summarizing the reasons both for and against accounting for enterprise funds differently than governmental funds.
Kenya has been in the limelight over food insecurity over the years. Currently, the approximate number of people facing food insecurity in the country stands at 1.3 million (Valdes & Konandreas, 2019). These numbers represent different types of chronic food insecurity, including low food security and very severe food insecurity. Kenyans are facing a real food shortage and a decline in food access (Valdes & Konandreas, 2019). One of the causes of food shortage in Kenya is inconsistent rain distribution, which affects crop production and vitality. Some causes of decreased access to food include poverty, unemployment, and low income. Therefore, the poor, sick, and those living in arid and semi-arid lands are more likely to suffer from food insecurity. Introducing biotechnologies in developing countries would massively reverse the food security problem. One benefit includes increasing crop yields after introducing high-yield seed varieties (Valdes & Konandreas, 2019).
