Professor McChesney has provided an elaborative gesture on the relationship between journalism, democracy, and capitalism. According to the video, the three components (journalism, democracy, and capitalism) directly impact each other. And mostly, the internet and digital presence in the media platforms seem to take control of the democracy. The world is thriving so fast, and the American people are experiencing great change in terms of democracy and capitalism. Between the 20th and 21st century, American democracy and the world at large has been influenced by journalism.

According to McChesney, democracy and capitalism have been crumbled by the internet. For example, the internet has taken control of every aspect of life over the decades. As far as everyone is focused on the internet changes and influences in current and future generations, the issue of capitalism is not discussed. According to the professor of communication McChesney, capitalism has crawled into the internet and is taking control of everything. It is using the internet as a channel to invade privacy and destroy American democracy through journalism. Journalism, democracy, and capitalism seem to have a close relationship since they are all influenced by the digital world. Additionally, when the government and economists explain the issue of capitalism, they are focused on the presence of a “free market.” However, that is not the case since it is not “free” anymore, which compromises the American Economy.
