Topic 1 - Neuroprosthetic Breakthrough in Artificial Intelligence.
Cami Rosso’s article posted on 1st October 2019 in on Psychology Today’s website highlights one of the recent breakthroughs in artificial intelligence technology based on a recent discovery or rather invention by a research institute in Switzerland. Scientists from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) have managed to exact human control over robotics in a turn-around event that seeks to deal with society’s reservations over artificial intelligence. The neural prosthetics function to provide electrical stimulation to the nervous system and thus providing human beings with control over the cognitive, motor, sensory, hearing, and communication skills of the robots. Such neural prosthetic devices use in enhancing the dexterity of the robots in artificial intelligence include the deep brain stimulation, spinal cord stimulators, as well as the cardiac pacemakers.
