Understanding my Strengths
Strength in us has become vital in nearly all facets of life. According to Park, strengths are those abilities, qualities, characters, and personality that people intrinsically exhibit which make us perform tasks exemplarily (36). Tests and questions that revolve around job applicants' strengths have become a trend. Other than being aware of personal strength, most people are interested in applying them and using them to make achievements in day-to-day life.
* Awareness
Individualization is one of my top five strengths. This strength significantly influences how I see and perceive the people around me, coworkers, and my performance, alike. For instance, it makes me consider all people as special and believe that being different is where their awesomeness lies. I am always able and willing to sacrifice my personal psychological satisfaction just to motivate my coworkers because their distinct thoughts have emerged to have a positive ripple effect on performance and organizational results.
Also, being strategic is another of my top five strengths. This untaught but crucial strength has impacted my decision making in the face of each situation by thinking of possible outcomes. For example, my friend's children aspire to be lawyers. When asked for a piece of advice on how to shift their interest due to the profession's future uncertainties in the job market, I asked my friend to combine resources and partner with me to form a law firm. This plan is to secure jobs for his children as well as for my son who aspires to be an accountant.
