The schedule of studying a nursing degree is tight and leaves a person with minimal free time. Therefore, during my college time I have contributed to my community by perusing this degree because it will be of great help to many people in the future. The nursing degree provides an individual with a lot of knowledge that is needed in the current society due to the increased varieties of diseases resulting from a change in lifestyle. Also, the internship will provide me with a chance of treating the sick and educating people. As well, it will strengthen the skills that I will in turn use to give back to the society.
Giving back to the society involves activities that help the people in the society and are related to the nursing career. The main duty of the job is helping people, but it takes the right attitude and person to execute that duty effectively. I plan to use my nursing degree to enrich and give back to the society by volunteering in activities such as free medical clinics and blood drives (Parahoo, 2014). Despite the fact that the career is quite involving, this will help in the saving of a lot of people's lives. To ensure this, I will be planning my schedule well to spare time for volunteering.
