Summary of Indigenous Writes
People learn about the history of the world and believe the current state of events is a result of stages of development that seamlessly gave way to the next one. Everywhere in the world, people share the same tenets of history, and these are passed on from one generation to the next one without there being any questions directed at those who claim to know the hardcore truths of this history. However, there are many holes or loopholes and inconsistencies in close supervision that follow the history the world shares. But, only a handful of people seem to question or share their concerns over these loopholes. In chapter 18, titled The Myth of the Wandering Nomad, Vowel borrows from Robert J. Sawyer’s books as she tries to demystify the myth that the world does share one: the European history.
The ideas included in the chapter makes one question the history they have learned from a young age. For example, it is highly believed that agriculture is the bedrock of civilization and gave rise to permanent settlement. These ‘facts’ have been peddled for years, and generations have been fed such statements in the name of facts. However, in this chapter, these ‘facts’ are broken down and discussed as they ought to, and the truth be propagated as it should.
