(1)  In “Being Digital” Negroponte discusses how the nature of digital information will transform everyday media experiences.  The basic premise underlying his entire book is the distinction between atoms and bits. With regards to media, what are atoms and what are bits?
(2)  Yeykelis et al examine the nature of multitasking on laptops.  In doing so, they discuss two forms of media multitasking: serial switching and concurrent device usage.  How do these two modes of media use differ from each other?
(3)  Carr describes “quiet spaces” that result from deep reading, noting “If we lose those quiet spaces, or fill them up with ‘content’, we will sacrifice something important”.   (a) What does he think is sacrificed?  (b) How might we relate media multitasking to this concern?

In as much as we are trying to get deep down the technology lane, a lot of factors have to be put into consideration. It has “bits” and “atoms” (Nicholas, 1995) which, needs to be looked into before we get lost in this technology idea. Atoms entail newspapers, magazines, and books whereas, bits include audios and videos. In other words, atoms comprise of any hard copy mode of communication that has to be delivered physically, bears weight, needs shipment, or a means of delivery and take time to be delivered. Bits are mostly soft copy, weightless, colorless, and fast in delivery.
