Procrastination is an act that is done by every person, no matter his status, or job, his responsibilities or duties. In this paper, we explore the author’s ways of delivery in a rhetorical analysis for his work. The authors starts by discussion about procrastination. Everyone does it, such that no one is perfect who can always, 100% do the given task right away. Everyone has a way of taking on the task and actually completing it, and everyone has their own timing on when they can perform the needed work to finish their project. Some people choose to procrastinate, where they wait until the latest moments before they can do the job and the required acts that involve it. According to the author, here are some reasons on why we really do procrastination, and how understanding them can help us deal with our imperfection.
Let us look closer at the recurring elements that the author wants us to realize. First is Fear. According to the article, we procrastinate because facing the task given to us gives us anxiety and worry. This stems from the fact that we are not sure if we are capable of finishing the project in a way that we are expected to be. This gives an added pressure to the one who is supposed to do the project. In this sense, he takes the time in order to get ready. One might not give the attention to the task that needs to be done, unless one is really prepared to create it, or if one is pressured enough be the deadline and produces a work that comes from his own flow. The author discusses procrastination with the negative feelings associated with it.
