The God of Cookery used magical realism all throughout the film, it enhanced the viewer’s experience, adding comedy to the scenes like cartoon kung-fu moves during cook-offs and other scenes involving the main character. Cinematography also emphasized magical realism used, by doing different angled shots and close-ups to indicate tension during problematic scenes. It also used in the end scene which looked like an infomercial because of the zooming and tilting technique used suitable with the business-like feel. Parallel to One Hundred Years of Solitude, magical realism was used to transform the “magic” or fantasy world into reality making it believable and relatable to the viewers.
