The concept of settler colonialism refers to the elimination of the civilization of indigenous people. It is a process through which immigrants annihilate or discredit the culture of the natives. As a result, the ways of the natives to maintain economic, environmental, and social sustainability are either ignored or depicted as unworthy/unnecessary. One aspect of settler colonialism in Australia is the relationship between land and the people. The Aboriginals consider land not to be subject to ownership since it is the giver of life.
