The clip I chose to analyze is the closing scene to Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction. In this scene, Tarantino’s story comes to a close in an unprecedented way. Towards the middle of the film, the viewer sees the main character, Vincent Vega, get killed (Dir. Quentin Tarantino). However, Tarantino’s use of non-linear storytelling provides the audience with the satisfaction they need in the ending. In this scene, the audience watches as Jules Winnfield reasons with Pumpkin. In this scene, Winnfield acts as the big brother by using his experience as a gun for hire to show Pumpkin that he ought to rethink his way of life.
