Windle wrote an article on the topic, "Alcohol Use among Adolescents and Young Adults." The author asserts that, the use of liquor among the young adults and teenagers is a serious health problem in America. This assertion is a fact and the government should look for ways to curb the norm. According to Windle, about 29 percent of students in the 12th grade and more than 35 percent of learners in college take more than five drinks in a month. It is true that the use of alcohol among the youths is associated with a lot of risky activities. Windle argues that the risky behaviors comprise the use of tobacco. In most cases, the drug abusers drink and drive.
However, the scholars who do not take alcohol receive hostile effects of drinking from their colleagues who drink. The adverse effects include the drinkers harassing them verbally and interrupting their studies. This is an assertion that Windle makes and it is correct. The trend of youths engaging in drinking habits continues towards younger ages. According to Windle, more than 30 percent of the youths start drinking when they are around 13 years. Windle's argument that beginning to take alcohol before a person is 15 years, leads to health problems associated with alcohol when one grows old is true. The assertion is true because when a kid drinks heavily at the tender age, the brain, which continues to develop might have adverse effects. The impact includes an eternal damage to the functions of the brain, such as memory and coordination.
Robertson, Susan, and Suman wrote a book titled, "Preventing Drug Use among Children and Adolescents: A Research-Based Guide for Parents, Educators, and Community Leaders." The authors argue that, the dangers that drug abuse expose youths to involve a connection between many risk factors of different types. Such factors might be unusual actions and attitudes.
