You can choose to formulate your discussion around the uniqueness of different industries and recognized the challenges, or focus on some particular companies and offer more in-depth analysis.

A few weeks ago, none of us have imagined the situation we are in today. We have witnessed the biggest challenge in global economy in decades or more. This also gives us a unique opportunity to be strong, united, and creative. The sole purpose of this exercise is for all of us to be aware, accept and face the challenges in front of us. As a member of the business community, everyone is part of this challenge. Here, I want you to take a moment and imagine if you are the CEO of the following companies, what is your (and your executive team, aka your group) response to coronavirus crisis? Effects of Covid-19 on restaurants
With millions of people across the world already reeling in shock in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic, possibly its emergence is a reality check to the world's business community. The pandemic has forced business people to shut down as the government urges its citizens to quarantine. The new lockdown down policy has immensely killed the catering services that had opted to do home deliveries. According to an article by Tucker and Shuyi (2020), the speed at which the virus is moving is alarming, and we are faced with fear and uncertainty of when it might end.
Our restaurant business has drastically dropped only in two weeks into the announcement of the first few cases of coronavirus pandemic. My staff has been continuously wiping surfaces, more than usual, before and after serving our clients. They are continually doing a deep cleaning on the horizontal services and use quite expensive disinfectants. Also, all the waiters and waitresses are required to wear gloves and face masks, which increase our cost of operation and thus lower profit margins during these difficult business times. The employees are feeling the catastrophic effect of the covid-19 since I had reduced their number by 90% to keep up with the operations. My huge concern is how they are going to pay up their bills, and if they can secure enough cash for survival during the lockdown as most of them have families and depend solely on their work.
The biggest challenge many restaurants are facing is the fact that no evidence has been established to show that food handling can transmit covid-19, a situation that has raised concern to our clients and employees. Our packaging team has also expressed their worry about handling imported foodstuffs and packaging materials. The usual dining shifts and traffics in our restaurants declined following the death of about 50 people in the United States as of 28th March. Shifting to food take away and deliver model also proves to be quite expensive as the management has to counter delivery costs and means.
Our first response to the covid-19 pandemic was to engage in food delivery and takeout orders. However, this has proved futile since it has gained insufficient response and close to zero traffic per day. Our food order app had also depicted a 50 % decline in orders and app visits, indicating a severe calamity ahead. ...
