Taiwan is an island in southeastern china off the coast. It has a population of approximately 23.4million, which is composed of the four ethnic and sub-ethnic groups. Most people have, in the recent past, been moving to live in the suburban areas reducing the population in the major cities. Religious practices in Taiwan are very diverse. The original people attribute their souls to natural phenomena, plants, and inanimate objects. They also worship nature, while others practice various indigenous religious rites (Taiwan,33). However, the Chinese have brought Buddhism and Daoism. There is also the practice of protestant Christianity from the Dutch and Roman Catholicism by the Japanese. Buddhists and Daoists are, however, the largest group. Albrecht(22) affirms that most people in Taiwan speak Mandarin, which is the official Chinese language; many speak Taiwanese while a considerable number are conversant with the Japanese language.
The general climate of Taiwan is tropical since it lies in the tropical of cancer. It rains just before and during summer and receives an average rainfall of 2600 millimeters (Taiwan – Climate, 1). Taiwan has recorded a rapid growth of the economy and industrialization in the recent past. Its GDP is projected at 625 USD Billion while its primary currency is the New Taiwan dollar. According to Taiwan Profile (1), its government is democratic and constitutional with a president as the head of state. The government is comprised of the presidency and five branches. Their current president is Tsai Ing-Wen. Major holidays observed in Taiwan are between the 23rd of January and 29th of January, which is the New Year’s Eve and the holiday, peace memorial day. Women’s day and children’s day, dragon boat festivals, among others ("Taiwan - Language, Culture, Customs and Etiquette"). Taiwan is, however, prone to experiencing earthquakes landslides and flooding, especially during the summer season, when it experiences intensive rainfall.

The sale of Blancanva clothing is likely to be affected by the monsoon, which occurs during May. It results in very high rainfall throughout the island (Lee et al.,13). Therefore, the movement might be quite tricky. It’s easy to travel and make sales during other seasons.
Textile and Apparel industry in Taiwan
The textile industry in Taiwan is one of the most traditional ones. It has contributed heavily to the growth of the economy. They make ready to wear clothing for their population ("Taiwan Economy, Manmade Fiber, Taiwan Textile Industry"). Recently, they stopped competing with international industries and have instead been focusing on creating new textiles and generate more employment. According to Ozek (77), the industry attained a value of 13 billion dollars and continues to gain more shares in the market, mainly due to its eco-friendly nature of the textile.
