Medical researchers are working tirelessly to answer many health complications that lack a clear solution. These researches not only focus on establishing solutions but also on convenience purposes. Genetic diseases are some of the difficulties that are difficult to diagnose. Research has shown that early diagnosis of some of these illnesses presents a better chance of survival. As the article “Nanopore Sequencing Test Can Diagnose 50 Genetic Diseases” by Sophia Ktori notes, a breakthrough in adopting this diagnostic approach will help manage genetic diseases, among other structural conditions. However, contrary to the assumption by the author that a successful STR approach will solve a majority of the gene-related illnesses, it is also worth noting that the environment plays an essential role in the expression of these genes.
Genes are the backbone of the structural development of humans and all other living organisms. They determine one’s physical condition, such as height, ability to resist illnesses, and the expression of certain diseases. As the author of the article notes, DNA is the central strand that determines an individual’s characteristics. Characterizing it is replicating is a significant step towards unraveling certain health conditions. Many of the old-age illnesses are traceable to one’s genetic composition. Thus, the ability to monitor gene replication among other gene sequencing processes can help prevent the development of such conditions in the future.
While it is essential to consider the genetic composition, researchers should also consider the circumstances under which these genes are expressed. The expression of genes in any organism is also dependent on the external world in ...
