This module on entrepreneurship has been very informative and in many ways, it has helped me to examine myself to better understand my preferences with regards to the entrepreneurial journey. The course has touched on every aspect of entrepreneurship, from planning all the way to execution. If I were to start my own company in the coming months, I can do so because of the confidence I have now. Self-confidence is a necessary entrepreneurship characteristic (Garaika, et al., 2019). I have thus developed confidence from the tons of information that I have got from the module such as getting to know about the entrepreneurial preferences and knowing what I prefer best. The process and journey of entrepreneurship have been clearly defined and I now know my way with regards to starting an entrepreneurship journey. In terms of finances, now I have learnt the different sources of funds that start-ups might explore, ranging from personal money such as savings to funds provided for by venture capitalists. In the case of borrowed finances, especially from family and friends, I have learnt of the best way to cover my back and this is majorly by the use properly designed agreement document that clearly spells out the terms of engagement. The concept of effectual reasoning is one I have really grasped, and becoming a master entrepreneur is now a goal that is within my reach. This is especially because I am now aware that a master entrepreneur more often than not relies on effectual reasoning. I believe the knowledge to assemble a winning team and mobilise resources is now part of me. This module for sure has been an eye-opener for me because I am in a position to actualise most of the business ideas I have had, magnitude notwithstanding.
In any start-up setting, where there is more than one founder, the perfect team combination comprises a hacker, a hipster, and a hustler. Of all the three, I prefer being the hustler because of my personal traits and the strengths I possess when it comes to articulating and selling ideas to an audience. This hustler instinct in me always came into play whenever we were organised into groups during the module. I was always ready to share my ideas with the rest of the group members. Being able to present the group’s findings at the end of every exercise meant that I was keen on every discussion to have a deeper understanding of the task in question.
