Socrates death was an execution that came at the time when he was convicted that he had been corrupting the minds of the youths and that he did not respect the gods. The element of corruption in this case was used in the quest to make him seem as though he was degrading the values of the Roman society. At the time of his conviction, there were an estimated 500 Athenians in the jury.
A review of the death of Socrates reveals that, this was a punishment that was not fitting for his accusations. It is important to review this against a philosophical background to better dispel the accusation leading to his death.
