Information architecture planning allows the site visitors to access the information that they require and services, while an organization is also able to achieve its objectives (Cassidy, 2005). An organization may fail to implement the IT strategic ideas for failure to properly review the site objectives. Before implementing IT goals, there is a need to have measurable goals. The information architecture in turn directs the users, and failure to attain the targets consistently shows that the IT strategic planning has failed. This could either be that the users do not get what they need or there are barriers to achieve their goals.
Poor integration of search and structure is a form of inferior information infrastructure. Even though, focus more on ease of searching compared to the structure, poor integration of the two makes navigation difficult and frustrating. There are limits to upgrading the software, and the organization runs the risk of failing to implement the IT strategy when there is poor information technology the integration of search and structure provides an opportunity to ensure compatibility, where there is no need for huge investments in Information Technology. Poor integration makes it difficult to implement the IT strategic ideas. A well planned information architecture strategy provides the right information at the right moment, while also limiting unauthorized access (Wunder, & Tracz, 2003).
The case for prioritizing on information technology is that it is easier to connect content that supports usability (Cassidy, 2005). In IT planning the information is grouped in a way that content and information is easy to find and support the IT strategic goals. This ensures that both user needs and the business goals are taken into account during the planning phase.
