Rachel's book Silent Spring. Social Sciences Essay (Essay Sample)

Instructions:

Rachel's book Silent Spring played a huge role in galvanizing pubic interest in environmental issues in the 1960's and 1970's -- and is one of the seminal books in the area of the "environment." As is mentioned in the abstract of the article I've asked you to read (see the below link) -- President John F. Kennedy even read it and discussed it at a news conference. Below you will find a link to a short YouTube video on DDT and Rachel Carson's efforts to top its use.
After reading the attached article and viewing the video, please succinctly summarize (in your own words, and in ~300-400 words) the chief points of the article, and why you think her book "Silent Spring" had such a significant impact on the public "vis-à-vis" environmental issues. Have fun!
