The article presents a very interesting read, especially with reference to the articulation of some of the subtle concerns of modern technology and the oblivious reasons for the advancements and consequences. Over the years, mankind has been faced with various challenges ranging from disease to the need for effective methods of production. In a quest to beat the challenges, technology has been a tool wielded to bring swift solutions. However, as noted in the article, some of the solutions that have been developed over the years have not been guided by sustainability principles of the natural environment and ecosystems’ balance. This is evident from all the radiation emanating from the nuclear bombs and development of chemicals meant to bring to an end the menace of pests and disease.
