Dear University of California, Davis Office of Undergraduate Admissions,
I am writing to you to appeal against the revocation of my admission at the University of Davis due to my poor grade of C in Math268 Discrete Math in Spring 2018. I would like to thank you for your kind response: I admit that I failed to meet the professors' expectation as well as the school management last spring semester. Even though I was hoping to get a grade B I got a C grade. I struggled to understand this course and tried to achieve the desired grade.
My final exam score in the course was 81%, which is a B grade, however, my final course percentage was 78%; I was very close to a B grade in the course. I admit that I failed to meet the professors' expectation as well as the school management's expectations last semester. Even though I was hoping to get a grade B, I got a C grade. My educational history proves that I am a hardworking and devoted student. I took linear algebra, Digital Media, U.S History and Discrete mathematics and got B+, A, A, and C respectively, I only failed to get the desired grade which is a B grade.
Even though I scored poorly in Math, I managed to get 85 points on the final test; my overall grade was 79%, which means I only missed the pass mark by 1% because I experienced some family issues that affected my concentration. My mother fell ill and needed to be cared for. I am the only son; I had to ensure that she received the much needed medical assistance. I was distracted from my studies because I had to look after my mother; this explains why I got the C grade. This does not define my personality traits or brilliance.
