Identify and succinctly describe the strategies Crosson and Rosenberg mention that they believe will allow “agriculture” to feed the world growing population in the future. Then explain which of these strategies you feel are most important and will have the greatest amount of success.
Irrigation – Crosson, and Rosenberg mention irrigation as one of the key strategies that will help feed the growing population in the future. The authors mention water harvesting schemes which were used in the Middle East as well as drip or trickle irrigation which was widely used in the US and Israel. As per the authors, the trickle system works by delivering water to a particular plant or an area adjacent to a plant. This mechanism they say helps to increase efficiency in how water is used and also decreases or totally prevents salinization.
