The different readings and the video content shed some light on the other civilizations’ developments regarding religion and science. The readings also take a deep dive into the different study techniques that distinguish the different periods and practices as the civilization comes of age; periodization, science, psychology, political science, and religious studies are the stand-out studies of civilization according to the readings (Unit 1). With periodization as the mode of study for civilization, the major distinct periods that the historians acknowledge to date are the ancient, medieval, and modern. Religion and science are the most commonly contrasting modes of study that the readings have emphasized, bearing in mind the different forms of religion. The new physics relies primarily on the mathematical description of nature and its parallax with the psychological explanations of flows. Science is credited for the emergence of new ways humans perceive life without disregarding the interconnection with other disciplines and aspects that help study civilization.
The different aspects that describe civilizations often have their varied interpretation of nature, with science and religion having the most contrasting views. Concerning science and religion, the former is concerned about acquiring knowledge, whereas the latter is about believing in a higher power.
