Journal Discussion Money is always fluctuating in value, especially with the Bretton Woods monetary system. This chapter uses the story of Argentina to show the very negative effects of the flux in value of money. In this example, it is sad how a whole country was subjected to a debt of $93 Billion from other countries. This is affected by many factors, but most importantly are the interests of the people in charge, and the interest of the people not in charge but are able to influence economy through various pressures. What is not mentioned in the article is how certain Banks and corporations were responsible in causing the suffering of the people. When chaos was setting in, banks refused to give the money to the people partly in fear of bankruptcy and loss of profits. Even today, there are organizations, and a handful of people who can influence the value of money. Billionaires around the world...
